We are a healthy, active, non-smoking retired couple. I was an administrator in a very active clinic and my husband of thirty-seven years was a locomotive engineer.
Our family of five included a small Border collie, Spot, who passed away at 17 years of age. We have a sweet Husky/Whippet grand-dog, Lulu. We have had experience pet-sitting cats, the most recent being two adorable rescue cats from New Orleans, Sachmo and Daisy. Other house-sits have included two months in a small village in Fiji with outdoor cats, a random dog along with several chickens and roosters. We have had two long-term sits on the island of Molokai in Hawaii. Currently we are on an long term (3 month) house sit on Vancouver Island. Several of our sits have been repeats.
We are caring, compassionate and very responsible. I have experience with pet injections as our neighbours’ pooch was diabetic and I would administer his medications in their absence.
We have been homeowners for over thirty-seven years along with operating our seasonal cottage. We very much respect and understand the responsibilities of caring for a home and property.
My husband is very handy and mechanical, and I am known by family and friends as a "well organized neat-nik". Our hobbies include hiking, cooking, baking sour dough (my passion), reading and gardening.
We enjoy house-sitting as it enables us to provide a loving and responsible environment for family pets while having the opportunity to experience and learn about different communities, countries and cultures.
Please feel free to contact us if you would like more information.
I have included a link to our blog "Retirement or Bust" edandfaye.wordpress , which relays some of our house-sitting experiences.
