We would love the opportunity to see other parts of the US and the world, having begun our housesitting adventures with three overseas long-term house exchanges. Because we're retired, we have the flexibility to meet your timeframe and length of stay. Any destination would be considered, just ask!
We completed an 11-week housesit in New Mexico in 2013, followed by a 2-week housesit/petsit in Colorado. During the month of May 2014 we accepted a housesitting job in Tucson, Arizona, caring for the most beautiful -- and smart -- Rhodesian mix. And we were so pleased to be invited back to Tucson in October 2015 for 3 weeks. We spent the holidays near Galway, Ireland, from Nov 2014-Jan 2015, where we cared for two energetic and lovable pups. Our next housesit (June/July 2015) was in the Bay Area of California, enjoying a lively little shih tzu and three entertaining cats. Bend, OR, was our next destination in December 2015. It was a lovely two weeks in a beautiful part of the state and the 9-month-old puppy we cared for was a joy. In September 2018 we enjoyed nearly two weeks in Santa Rosa, California, where we were fortunate to care for a sweet Tibetan terrier. She was a real homebody, easy to care for and easy to love.
More recently, we were fortunate to spend 3 weeks in New Braunfels, Texas, in April 2019. Two Australian shepherds kept us busy and never refused a game of fetch in the backyard. It was interesting to see how different these two siblings were, although they both displayed some impressive athleticism.
We are both healthy, active non-smokers and would enjoy caring for your precious pets and plants and keeping your home and yard just the way you left it. Living in a neat and orderly home is a priority for us. We are very good at following instructions!
This housesitting opportunity will allow us to experience your neighborhood and hometown firsthand and live as a local. We're not shy about meeting neighbors or asking questions. In fact, one of our favorite activities is chatting with local residents. You can learn a lot about someone over a cup of tea!
