Introduction
Hello from Regina and Michael in Hamburg. We are a German - American couple, who are, above all, reliable and trustworthy. Our main characteristics beyond that are a sense of adventure and flexibility. We are both retired, Michael from the United States Navy as a Captain, and Regina from the German Civil Service. She held positions in Federal and State government, as well as working for the United Nations. We love travel, making new friends, and animals.

Why we want to house sit
Mainly because we love the opportunity to enjoy having pets, even temporarily --- we spend too much of the year away from home to be good pet-owners ourselves, so taking care of others' pets occasionally is the next best thing. Also we realized that traveling as tourists and staying in hotels and guest houses does not really show us what a community is like for those who live there. Staying in homes and becoming part of a community is a far richer and more stimulating experience. We have experienced what life is like in nearly a dozen countries and communities that we would not have discovered as tourists.
What we bring to the assignment / relevant experience
We have substantial and recent house- and pet-sitting experience. Our assignments have included Cyprus (north and south), the UK (England and the Isle of Man) Singapore, Malaysia, Mexico, the United States, and Namibia . We have cared for dogs, cats, and horses (on a large and remote farm in Africa.)
We have previous experience breeding and showing Maine Coon cats (in an earlier life stage!) and, more recently, caring for the pets and homes of friends when they travel. During the past three years, we have expanded what we were doing for friends to include house- and pet-sitting on a more professional basis. Letters of reference are available on request.
