If you're looking for someone to care for your home and pets, I may very well be a good fit for that! I'm a writer by trade, and because I work online, I'm based all over the world, and I travel it often. Getting to you isn't even a detail; consider me practically on the doorstep! On the bright side it means I can housesit almost anywhere, anytime, but unfortunately, because I travel nearly the whole year, I don't keep pets of my own at home, so I love to enjoy them and spoil them when I'm out in the world looking after somoene else's home. I take that responsibility as seriously as leaving someone to do the same in my own home. Also, it's much better for me as a writer to have a dog there to take me from beneath the laptop and get me out on walks for fresh air, play, and exercise, or a cat who demands attention away from the keyboard!
I have over ten years experience housesitting. I come with excellent references and a lifetime spent loving a wide array of animals from cats, dogs, and chickens to birds, fish, and goats, plus many more! My dossier reads like the roll call at a zoo! I don't smoke, drink, or do drugs. I'm reliable, responsible, honest, well-educated, very clean, and I'm a good communicator. Really I'm a tea-drinking bookish type.
My primary requirement when considering a property to safeguard is that Internet is available so I can work. I am well-versed in driving on either side of a car on either side of a road. I welcome background checks if requested. I'm happy to be flexible with special needs, requests, or schedules.
If I were looking for someone to watch over my fur babies, I would want someone like me; someone who would genuinely care for them as if they'd always known and loved them, and who would really look after my home while I was away.
I consider the people I housesit for to be clients of mine, and I do request a video call prior to accepting a housesit. It's best when we can meet at least via video before we meet in person.
