Responsible, mobile, young at heart seniors who have experience caring for pets and plants, and are just looking to experience life in different parts of the world.  We walk, bike, hike, golf and snowshoe depending on the season, so would have no trouble keeping your pets in shape if that is a requirement. 

We've owned our home for over forty years now and raised two sons in it during that time.  We had pets during the years the boys were growing up, a dog for seven years and a cat for eighteen years.  We don't have pets anymore, but we still both love animals and miss the years we had them in our lives.  That is why this housesitting/petsitting opportunity is so appealing to us.  Having pet(s) for a set number of days/weeks would just be the "cat's meow."

We were both brought up with old-school values.  We respect other peoples property and treat it like we would if it was our own.  We like things clean and tidy.  We would greatly appeciate the opportunity to care for your home and pets.

We had the pleasure of having Chuck and Mary house sit for us while we traveled to Brazil this fall. They kept in touch with us while they were driving here across several states, arrived promptly on the agreed-upon time, and then sent us regular updates while we were traveling. We felt very comfortable that our home and eBikes were in good hands with this delightful couple!

Our Brazil trip was physically challenging, made more difficult by our entire group catching Covid. After an exhausting three weeks there and 30 hours of flights and airports, I almost cried when we came home to such a spotless house (I must find out how they got our microwave so clean!). The next day we were pleasantly surprised to see my flower gardens looking the best they had all summer, thanks to cooler temperatures and Chuck and Mary’s care. They also didn’t bat an eye at using our manual lawn mower, and our yards looked great.

We had some bad experiences in the past with people we know house sitting for us, so we were curious how it would go having strangers in our home. This time it was a perfect experience, with a very trustworthy couple that obviously cared about our home and possessions. We would not hesitate to recommend Chuck and Mary to others!

Chuck and Mary offered to take care of our scaredy cat Oscar. Their reviews were numerous and very very good. We communicated across the months before the sit, and they remained flexible even when we thought we might have a hurricane.

We asked that they come the night before so that we could leave early the next morning. Whenever it was convenient was fine, but they asked us to give them a time, so we said around 5. They drove up at the stroke of 5, having already checked out the local areas. We enjoyed chatting with them over dinner, and I knew then that everything would be good while we were gone.

After we left, it got better and better. They sent us texts with pictures on how Oscar was doing. They took the time and effort to make him comfortable, and by the end of the week, they'd turned him into the lap kitty he loves to be. I think they also enjoyed the location, and stayed busy.

When we got home, the house was sparkling clean, the refrigerator cleaned out, Oscar happy, and even two hand knitted washcloths from Mary's tv time here. I cannot imagine having better, more generous caretakers of our cat and our home. Although they live quite far away, and although they do this work in order to travel to new places, I am still holding out hope that I might persuade them to come back again some time.

In summary, I highly recommend this couple, and suggest that you sign them up right away if you get the chance. Flo and Joe

Chuck and Mary were fantastic from the start to the finish of the house/cat sit. On our first phone call (for which they were on time) we were impressed by their answers to our questions and were very happy when they asked about our cat. 
We had a few conversations by text before they arrived and we were impressed by their commitment and responsiveness.

During the time they were here,  they texted updates (humorous at times) and photos of our kitty on their laps and legs; made us feel confident that we had made the right decision. 
They waited to leave until I told them the plane was leaving on time. When we returned we found the house to be in immaculate condition. Sheets and towels washed, bed made, everything as clean as it could be. Plants had been watered, birds fed...

I can't recommend Chuck and Mary enough and would be happy to answer any questions about them and their stay here.

Chuck and Mary took care of our cat Weasel and watched over our condo in San Diego for a little more than two weeks. They did an outstanding job. Weasel got the attention he craves, Chuck and Mary stayed in touch with us via text and email, and they left our place as clean and tidy as when they got here. They are a very pleasant couple and we felt assured that everything was being taken care of in our absence.

We wholeheartedly recommend Chuck and Mary as housesitters who can be trusted to care for an animal.
