I live in Southwest Florida and work as a grant writer for a local nonprofit. I have worked at my current job since 2014 and work remotely. I have lived in my current home since 2017 and previously owned a house for 15 years. Up until three years ago I had four cats and at one point had five cats and a Rottweiler.
This is the first time in 30 years that I have not had a pet. But after the heartbreak of losing four within two years, I decided I was not ready to replace them. I always felt guilty about traveling and often didn't because I never felt anyone else could take care of them as good as me. Not having children, they were my family, and I would treat yours as if they were my own. Another reason I have not made the decision to have pets again is to have the freedom to travel. But I do miss having them in my life and caring for your pet in your home allows the best of both worlds.
I am primarily a homebody who has never smoked, rarely drinks, and primarily eats a whole food plant-based diet. I do yoga, meditate, and enjoy museums, photography, going for walks, swimming, and kayaking. I spend most of my free time writing and doing research for a novel I am writing, so enjoy being in a quiet environment.
