I am retired from Corporate Finance where I worked with engineers to develop and forecast budgets for fuel cells. I’ve also worked in finance at Procter & Gamble and cigna (insurance) The common point is that the work was detail oriented while requiring a big picture view. I am degreed in Accounting with a Masters in Taxation and a Masters Business Adminstration.
I am now an experienced house-sitter. References from various housesit sites can be shared with you. I am an experienced home owner and manager. I have 2 adult children, who now live in Boston and Chicago. Raising children, while working full time and managing a household is a testament to my energy. When the kids started high school, I went back to school to get my second Master’s degree.
I have owned homes since 1980 when helped my mother buy her first home. I currently own a 4 bed/3bath home in Connecticut. I’ve had it long enough that it’s almost new! I love the updating and redecorating that’s done to keep the house looking ‘fresh’. I’m not particularly handy with tools or lawn mowers, but I am an excellent judge of when a job has been done well.
I have owned pets all of my life. I’ve had a cat that ignored people and a cat that let my sister treat him as a baby doll. I’ve had dogs that were large who thought they were small (move over mommy!) and small dogs that think they rule the world! I love all the personalities!
I do have a personal pet - a 12 pound, 11 year old shih tzu. He is well trained and silly-friendly. I would love to be able to bring him on housesits, but it is not a deal breaker to leave him with my daughter.
