Housecarers reduces the file size on upload. However if you have a high resolution photo it can take up a lot of file spaces and take a long time to upload, or your connection may drop out. e.g. High resolution photos are now typically 4 Mb. If you first reduce the file size (not dimensions), it will upload quicker without dropping out. You can first save the picture as low resolution (for Internet that is fine. High resolution is for Printing) using your camera software. Or you reduce using Office

Why you need a Good Profile Photo
A profile photo is one of the first things that people will see when they visit your post, so make sure it's a good one!
If you're serious about being a successful house sitter, make sure to upload a recent picture, and that shows your face. This helps potential homeowners know who they're letting into their homes, and it helps build trust and credibility. It doesn't have to be a professional photo, but it should be a clear photo that lets homeowners see who you are.
So if you don't have a profile photo yet, get one! And if you're not sure how to take a good profile photo, check out our tips for taking the perfect profile photo.
Tips for choosing the right picture for your House Sitter Profile.
- Use a recent picture that shows your current appearance.
- If you have a professional headshot, use that.
- Use a high-quality camera: If you have a smartphone with a good camera, that will work fine.
Just make sure the photo is clear and in focus.
- If you're hoping to attract families, consider including a picture with children or pets.
- The background of the photo should contrast with your clothes
- Choose a picture that shows your face clearly.
- Avoid using group photos or photos with other people.
- Avoid using photos that are blurry, dark, or otherwise difficult to see.
- If you're not sure which photo to use, ask a friend or family member for their opinion.
- It is important to consider lighting. If possible, choose a photo that is taken in natural light, as this will help to bring out your best features.
- If you are taking a selfie, be sure to use the front-facing camera and hold the camera at eye level to avoid any unflattering shadows.
- Take care with the angle of your shot. It's important to have a clear view of your face so that viewers can see your features.
Avoid photos that are taken from below or too close to the camera, as these can make your features appear distorted.
Editing
Avoid using filters or editing your picture too much.
When it comes to editing your photo, less is more. A simple crop and minor adjustments to the brightness and contrast can make a big difference in how your photo looks. Avoid using filters or over-processing the image, as this can make you look artificial.
Bottom Line
Choose a profile picture that will help you attract a compatible Home and Pet owner.
But don't agonize too much about your selection. It is important to have a profile photo loaded even if it is not perfect.
Remember that your profile picture is just one part of your profile - so make sure the rest of your profile is complete and informative as well!
