Please be advised that as from March 2023 I am seeking house sit offers only within a radius of a 2 or 3  hour drive from Cooma.  That being an area encompassing ACT - Batemans Bay to the Vict Border and areas in between say to Albury/Wodonga , Tumut,  Gundagai area.  In other words my selected area does not include the Sydney Metro area or, any area north thereof.

NB...today is .  FYI  -  We are relocating within the Monaro area and we will be unavailable  from mid October until  end of November (moving house some arguements about  packing 'stuff' we do not need - stressful times eh).

I am a former police officer/social worker/ a funeral director - all now fully retired.  My wife is still employed as a casual admin/special needs support worker at schools...and sometimes may not be able to combine as joint house sitters due to her work requirements... I am a former JP since 17th September 1980 -  I chose not to renew that authority on 7 March 2021 due to lack of use and need in immediate area) .  I do not have any criminal history.  Nor does my wife.

Reside in village just out of Cooma NSW.. We are both non smokers - both social drinkers. Active house proud and garden active couple. My son (a landscaper-earth moving contractor ) rouses on me for mowing my lawn too often.

Love for dogs and cats. Past dogs include Rotweiler - German Shepherd - Doberman - Fox terrier - Daschund - Yorkie....and our family suffered severly when we had to say good-bye to our shepherd Midnight,  due to old age (who was receiving daily insulin due to diabetes).

We had a client with an aged blind terrier dog -  have nursed dogs post ops under direct care of vet. We have sat  a x3 legged dog - a retired Guide dog,  and regularly sat a house where there 3 geriatric dementia dogs.  2 of them died on separate occasions  due to ageing whilst owners were away.  In May 2018 whilst sitting an aged doberman who had a recent epilepsy diagnosis I had to contact the owners touring Japan as the dog had fitted seriously and needed euthanised.  I arranged that on behalf of the owners.

One house owner had bequeathed her dog to me/us in her Will should she die before I do. Sadly that dog (Simba) has since died.

You can be assured that your loved household pets will be spoilt rotten (unless you tell us otherwise).

Have had horses - chooks and milking cows. Both have love for remote, isolated places in country areas.I/We are keen to spend energy caring for small acreage with animals and yards. Worked in far western NSW and isolated areas. Reliable transport. Very healthy with no restrictions. Both of us are highly skilled admin' clerical workers.

“ Harry was the perfect housesitter ”

Sit Dates Mar-31-23 - Apr-7-23 Homeowner Suzi1960, Member Since Jan-10-15

Location Gordon ACT Australia

We were very happy with Harry.  It was clear our dog and cat both had a lovely time with him while we were away. They were both very happy and content on our arrival home.  Our house was clean and tidy and Harry had left a number of goodies for us too.  I would have no hesitation in recommending Harry.
