I recently retired from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and I am in search for opportunities to rest, relax, travel and meet good people.  My husband is also a police officer and he may join me on suitable housesits, pending vacation allowances and owners wishes.  

I served for 20 years as an RCMP police officer, protecting numerous rural Canadian communities and keeping the public safe - so your home and pets are in good hands with me !

I have completed several housesits ( ) in Italy (2), France (2), Switzerland (1), Canada (3) and the USA (3).  Due to COVID-19, some housesit commitments in 2020 had to be cancelled in Ireland, the UK and USA, however as the world slowly returns to "rotating on its axis", I have been fully vaccinated and have began travelling again for housesits.  As a result of all these wonderful housesits, I have met some amazing homeowners and well behaved pets and it has been a privilege to be entrusted with the care of beautiful furry creatures. I am grateful for the new friendships that have been created along the way.  

I am fit and active, do not smoke and very mature and reliable.  I am proactive and very good at solving problems. 

I have owned my own home (many times due to work transfers) and understand pride of ownership, as well as the benefit of maintaining communication with homeowners about their properties and furry loved ones whilst away for extended periods.  

I am flexible with my time and dates for travelling to you and your home.  I am responsible and trustworthy - when I make a committment , I do follow through.   

I look forward to the opportunities of multiple housesits over the course of 2022.

Stephanie is everything I would have hoped for in a house and pet carer: responsible, smart, respectful of our home, and loving to our little old kitty. Bonus: She has a wicked good sense of humor! It was very easy to communicate before our trip, while we were away,  and after we returned. She even periodically sent pics of our cat while we were away which was fun and heartwarming. Our house was neat as a pin when we returned with a lovely note and yummy chili and other goodies in the fridge. I highly recommend Stephanie as a house and pet carer.

“Absolutely fabulous,” is the way we would describe our experience with Stephanie Lutes.

She cared for our home and our dog, Shasta,  as well as anyone could hope for. Stephanie took Shasta for daily hikes, bonding with her, and keeping her exercised and active. We think Shasta would have been happy to go home with Stephanie.

We had Stephanie stay a few extra days with us and found her pleasant and enjoyable as a house guest. We definitely recommend Stephanie to care for your home and pets. You’ll be pleased with her as well as her attention to your beloved pets. Roy and Ann

Stephanie was a guest in our home for about 10 days in September to look after our 6 cats.  When you are meeting someone for the first time there is always a level of nervousness and uncertainly on whether it will be mutually acceptable.  As soon as we met her, we knew she'd be perfect.  Not only was she punctual, reliable, clean, and trustworthy, she also made a point of understanding each of the cats' individual personalities when getting to know them.  She sent us messages about how they were doing and even welcomed us back home with some soup!

She has lots of energy and nothing seems to faze her.  And did I mention that she has a wicked sense of humour?  We loved having her in our home and taking care of our kitties and have asked her back for our trip in April 2022.  I wish we could have her for all of our trips but, alas, she wants to experience the world outside of Springwater, Ontario.  Of course, I don't blame her, but I am jealous of her other housesits.  You need not have any qualms about having Stephanie take care of your pets or home.
