Amazing Maine Coon Cats!

Two maine coon cats were a delight to care for in this beautiful modern home right on the water. Friendly fur babies! So fun watching the ferries and other boats pass by while sitting in a warm and toasty home during the winter. Very quiet neighborhood, walk along the beach, close enough to town. It was a joy pet sitting for Kay, she was always available if needed and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend pet sitting these 2 special cats!

Wonderful house sit!

What a lovely sit, the 2 story home is amazing, filled with wonderful artwork, like being in a mini museum!  Beautiful flower gardens and right across the street from Green Lake. Jyl and Chris were very supportive and communication was easy. I hope to sit for them again sometime!

We spent almost three months at the finca and had a wonderful time. Tanya and Sean made our first housesitting experience very special. They have been open, honest and above all friendly and understanding of our wishes and needs, since one of us also worked remotely half the time.

We can recommend this housesit to everyone who enjoys the company of cute cats, likes to keep busy, but at the same time wants some quiet time in the beautiful region around Vejer and Barbate.

Our to-dos ranged from caring for the cats to watering the plants and maintaining the open spaces. There’s always more to do and it is possible to get creative and work on different projects on the finca, but mostly it is up to you how to spend your time. Any help is always appreciated but there is never any pressure and you are always encouraged to enjoy your day, too. We thought that was really fair.

Thank you Tanya and Sean for having us. We will make sure to stop by when we are in the area again :) 

Excellent experience!!

It was obvious Cindy has been doing this awhile, she asked all the necessary questions and seemed very at ease. Cindy struck me as a very respectful and responsible person. She took excellent care of my 2 dogs, one cat,  my plants and my home.  She kept up with my pets rotating raw food diet/supplement, etc. She really seemed to understand the different personalities and needs of each one. I also really appreciated the photos she periodically sent me, when I texted to check on them she answered promptly. I would love to have her housesit for me anytime!

Greg looked after our property for two months.

Greg was mostly required to look after our garden during our 2 month absence.  He stayed on the property in his own motorhome, but had access to the house if needed and to the large shed so he could do some work for himself. 

We had requested the lawn to be mown, plants (including a large number of potted plants) to be watered and to keep a general eye on the property.  We'd also requested to run our motorhome and car at intervals to prevent the batteries from going flat. 

All good.  The plants (except for the one that we knew was dying before we left) looked healthy after 2 very dry months and our orchids were happily flowering.

Greg also offered to pick us up at the airport, which was much appreciated.

Excellence indeed!

A great big thank you to Joy and Noel for looking so well after our home, 2 dogs and hens for 2 months.

The dogs loved them. They took them every day for their favourite walk/ run through the bog, regardless of the irish weather, which can be harsh someday...

They also look after the garden, mowing the lawns which kept growing fast at this time of year.  Nothing was too much for them, they didn't hesitate to go the extra mile to do anything they thought would be needed or helpful, such as some maintenance repairs on the ride-on lawnmower , or cleaning the kitchen presses! 

They were exceptionally good at keeping in touch during the 2 months we were abroad,  sending WhatsApp messages nearly every other day, and a phone call from time to time. 

On the day of our return,  they had a full and delicious dinner ready for us, and not to mention how spotless the house was!

Joy and Noel certainly provided excellence and we recommend them 200% if possible! We are keeping in touch and hope to welcome them back in a near future.

Great house/cat sitter

Lynne looked after my two cats and house for 10 days and did a great job. My male cat is usually scared of new people but he took to Lynne straightaway. She was a good communicator, keeping in touch by WhatsApp. The house was left very tidy and she even washed bedding and towels before departure and left flowers! The neighbours said she was quiet and helpfully took in a parcel for one of them. I would happily have Lynne stay in my house again and would recommend her to others.

Missy just would NOT go out in the rain, and DJ just wanted to eat all the time!  Both were loving and slept on my bed.  It's a pretty, historic village and just a short way from Winchester which is full of interest.  Communication was easy, and the neighbours were friendly!  A great sit, thanks.

We have been welcoming a wide range of housesitters from around the world for the past 17 years, with Judith and Dominik being one of the best we have ever welcomed to the the finca.

Not only did they very ably managed all the tasks we had asked of them including feeding our cats and their amazing care of three poorly kittens that appeared (we are a rural farming community), but they were excellent in general property care of the finca itself including houses and pool areas - with much appreciated ideas suggested for repairs and efficiency.  Even with their own work commitments, they were always willing to help out above and beyond – we even offered them a job!

We cannot recommend Judith and Dominik highly enough for any type of housesit that they might choose to apply for in future, including single home or general property management, hosting guests, general DIY and maintenance and care of animals – they are extremely hardworking, competent, considerate, trustworthy and friendly people!  We do hope they will find time in future to visit us again, but in the meantime wish them happiness and success in whatever adventures they decide on next!    ¡Mil gracias!

Highly recommend-fun housesit!

This was a really fun housesit. You'll fall in love with their two golden doodles, Scout and Hudson. They are so sweet and funny. It was a joy to keep them. Ruth and Jake's house is adorable--wonderful view of Seattle from the back deck.  Freemont is a safe section of Seattle as well so no worries there. The charming Craftsman home is comfortable and right out of the pages of a decorating magazine.  I highly recommend this housesit and want to go back when it works with my schedule.

Chad and Jennifer's home was the perfect combination of a private, rural feel that's close to town. Their cat is a lover boy who is a real character and his owners--first time housesit users--were thorough with instructions, amicable and generous, and stayed in frequent communication throughout their cross-country drive. Jennifer has a huge, light-filled art studio and the home is a clean and pleasant place to stay. There are some great state parks in the local area, as well as a good local dairy, and Dayton is only half an hour away. Highly recommended...I just hope they ask me first, lol. 

Lovely Housesit with Lucy

I had a great time hanging out with their dog, Lucy, at this housesit. We went for lovely walks along a river park nearby, played catch often in the backyard (she's very skilled and so intelligent), and had some good laughs - she's very funny too. 

The property is lovely and well-maintained with a comfy bed with black-out curtains. Grocery stores and other amenities are close by. The owners were conscientious, kind, and well-prepared. They provided a dedicated area where I could look out at the beautiful trees when I was working. Great walking trails, and parks - and the community/neighbors were friendly and welcoming too. So many dog walkers around. I was also able to use a bike to get some additional exercise, which I really appreciated. 

The housesit was perfect for me and I had a great time. I would definitely housesit for them again!

After an initial email and a scheduled zoom call, she seemed perfect to stay with our 2 dogs and 3 hens. She arrived as scheduled for a previsit to get a lay of the house and pets. She texted photos and videos of our dogs while we were away with updates that gave us peace of mind. She handled the meds for our dogs with no problem. Upon our return, the dogs were happy to see us and the house was clean and tidy as we left it. We will definitely have her sit for us again ;)

Home away from home

There are 2 adorable kitties in a great house with beautiful surrounding and daily visits of wildlife at the garden fence. The well organized and generous couple stayed in contact during two months of travels and replied quickly. The neighbors are friendly and helpful, there is a shopping center in walking distance and lots to see and do in and around Calgary.

Idyllic Mountain-side Setting

Cherie took exceptional care of our house and garden

We put our home in Cherie's hands for 6 weeks, and were so happy we did. She tended my courtyard garden wonderfully. It was in its prime when we returned. Our house was immaculate. We have no pets, but I would bet she is a splendid pet sitter as she is courteous, mature, good-humored and warm. We would highly recommend Cherie and hope we have occasion to work with her in the future.

From the moment they contacted us they were professional and friendly and we had 100% confidence in leaving our dogs in their care.  They sent photos to us and gave regular updates of how our pets were.

Jeff and Judy were superlative in every way. They loved my dog who had lost his "brother" in the past two months and needed some unusual services. They left my house looking like it was in a magazine for Good Housekeeping. They were communicative and sent me pics so I would not worry.

Mary Ellen was very organized and had all information concerning housesit and care of Pepper recorded for us.  Also, suggestions on restaurants, local TRAX rail transportation and tipped us off to an ArtFest in downtown Salt Lake City, which was great fun! And, now we have new art to remind us of our first housesit!

Great views of the Wasatch mountain range to the east and the Oquirrh range to the west.  We visited the horses: Pedro, Skip, Krash, Coyote and Bandit.  They loved the apples and carrots for treats!  

We fell in love with Pepper, a beautiful Australian Shepherd.  He was chill, very well behaved and loved hanging out with us.  Lots of tosses of toys and cuddles.

We enjoyed house sitting Micks house & Albert. The house is very close to this small town and we loved walking  Albert each day. Chiltern is handy to explore other towns also.

I would highly recommend Ruth as a housesitter for your pets -- I would have no hesitation having her stay with my pets again. She was caring, giving my 3 cats the extra attention they needed when one, Skittles, suddenly experienced serious decline right before the housesit started and she curtailed her planned outside activities to spend much more time giving Skittles her direct companionship. She kept in constant contact with me (made more difficult with me being 10 time zones away), sending photos and updates, and also left my house clean and actually in better shape than when I left (the lock on my patio door totally stopped working and the door couldn't be left open during a hot spell -- and Ruth ended up replacing it for me). A week after the housesit ended she even followed up to see how my cats were all doing with me back (all doing pretty well as of today, in case anyone is interested :).

Bob and Jan take house caring to a whole new level!

I wish I could reserve Bob and Jan for every future trip I take.  They left my home absolutely spotless and my Bernese Mountain Dog disappointed to see them depart.  Several neighbors commented on seeing them routinely walking Murren around our mountain neighborhood, stopping to have a friendly conversation in the process.  Bob kept in communication with me prior to and during my trip abroad, always verifying my agenda and any pertinent airline changes.  The couple was extremely flexible in my desire to have them arrive a day before my departure, in time for the imparting of information required in very rural mountain living and the unique needs of my canine companion.  Bob and Jan are mature, dependable, and very resourceful pet/house sitters, whose vast life experience was evident in every aspect of their stay.  One could not imagine a better representation of Housecarers at its best than with this great couple.

Wonderful Time in Dublin

Our hosts (Aoife & Carl) welcomed us to their house as if we were family and even picked us up at the airport. Their house is a typical Dublin mid-20th century architectural design, modern inside, with lots of light, beautifully manicured front yard and a very cozy back yard.

Aoife & Carl prepared the house for us with all needed instructions, so it made it very easy to take care of their property and cats. They also gave us excellent suggestions for areas of interest, as well as details on Dublin transportation. Kitties (Cara & Tilly) were very easy to take care of and each had their own unique characters (Tilly was especially so playful)! The house location is excellent – it is about 20 minutes (by bus) from the center of Dublin – so the neighborhood is pretty quiet (and their neighbors were also very welcoming), yet you can quickly get to the main areas of the city. Transportation in Dublin is excellent (inclusive of local trains – DART - out of the city). Lot’s of places are also easily walkable – and of course the Pubs! Communication with our hosts was also very good before and during our stay.

We loved Patricia!

Patricia stayed at our house while we were on vacation for 3 1/2 weeks this June. She took care of our cats, chickens, pool and most importantly our 1 1/2 year old dog, Odin. It was the first time we'd left Odin and we were worried that he would miss us terribly and also that his rambunctious puppy energy might get to be too much for Patricia (Odin's a very sweet guy but he weighs 75 pounds and still has boughts of crazy puppy energy). Patricia bonded with Odin immediately. She sent us updates and photos about how he and the cats were doing. She took great care of our place and was very easy to communicate with before, during and after our trip. She's an experienced person and has had an adventurous life. We recommend her very highly.

Tim and Betsy are the best!  You will leave knowing your pets and house are in the best of care.  

They were always quick in responding to all communication prior to our departure date (even when I missed an important text they sent to me)  and Tim kept us well-apprised of how things were going during the 2 weeks we were gone.

The house was left immaculate - we could not have been more pleased!  They are 5-star house sitters!

This was our first housesitting experience, and Laura made it easy to enjoy it! Her house was very comfortable, and she left detailed instructions that helped so much. The instructions covered everything from the washer/dryer to cat and garden care to food truck recommendations. She also made two short videos to show tree and garden care. It was nice to have specific information.

The watering was the biggest task of the house sitting, but the trees were only watered one day a week, so just once in our two week stay. We felt very much at home, and enjoyed having the cats to keep us company. 

We appreciated the trust she had in us, in allowing us to take care of her home, and treat it as our own.
